Over the past year or so daily deal sites have proliferated. Perhaps the most newsworthy daily deal site is Groupon, which Google tried to purchase last year for $6 billion. Groupon declined.

These deal sites typically fall into one of four categories:

1. Local Deals: Sites like Groupon and Living Social offer daily deals from local merchants in your area. These deals can be anything from discounts at restaurants to half off a sky diving adventure. You purchase the deal through the site and receive a voucher that you use to purchase the goods or services from the merchant. Many of these sites blast you with a daily email.
2. Product Deals: These deal sites offer daily discounts on products.

I’ve been a fan of the TV show, “The Biggest Loser,” for several years. I love watching people transform their unhealthy habits into a positive lifestyle. It’s tragic that the easiest and cheapest food to obtain, such as pizza, burgers, ice cream and chips, are also the worst for you.

Initially, the people on the show think that eating healthy is unexciting and expensive. I’m not going to lie — it can be, but it doesn’t have to be. Some of them just aren’t educated about healthy food; the trainers give nutritional lessons to help them make lifelong changes. Many of the contestants end up becoming healthy eating fanatics by the end of the show.

The new season began this week. It was disheartening to see that many of the new contestants are only in their 20s.

Generally, Florida’s creditor exemptions are expressed in Chapter 222 of the Florida Statutes. The Chapter’s sections list Florida’s premier asset protection exemptions including the exemptions afforded wages, retirement funds and annuities. Sometimes the legislature makes important asset protection changes in various other parts of the Statutes.

A few years ago Florida changed part of its banking law statutes making it easier to for individual debtors to protect tenants by entireties bank accounts. Section 655.79 (1) provides that any joint bank account, including a CD, owned by husband and wife is a tenants by entireties account.
